The Strengthening Awareness for Food Safety Emergencies (SAFE) Educator Toolkit provides ready-to-use, research-based resources to help educators teach food safety before, during, and after emergencies and natural disasters. The toolkit includes presentation slides with notes, educator guides, participant handouts, evaluation tools, promotional materials, and support resources covering emergency food and water supplies, power outages, water purification, flood recovery, and safe food handling practices. The toolkit also includes a pocket guide, refrigerator magnet, bleach dilution label, a list of items to include in the kit, and food safety activities/guides to reinforce key preparedness and recovery messages.
